Although I grew up with an appreciation of the outdoors, I really got a sense of the power of nature as I researched its benefits in my role as a psychiatrist. Mindful moments and exposure to the outdoors, including imagery, can improve mental health. Wellness and wonder go hand in hand.
Over that last six years I have developed my skills and used photography as a way to explore the outdoors, share moments with friends, and as a launching point to educate myself about conservation. I have had great mentors and worked on my craft regularly, as both a creative outlet and meditative experience. On my website I am including local images from Austin, Texas, as well as shots from around the US and abroad.
I find that taking time in green space and being fully present in my surroundings have been among my own key restorative tools, and I cannot wait to share that with you.
